Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), authentication provider.
• Engineer profile: job title, years of experience, specialisations, country, city, work preferences, LinkedIn URL, short bio, availability flag.
• Application data: CV/resume file, cover note, applications submitted, status updates.
• Recruiter data: company name, website, work email, job postings submitted.
• Communication preferences: newsletter opt-in, notification preferences.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, referring page, and minimal log data needed to keep the service running and secure.

We do not collect special-category data such as date of birth, gender, ethnicity, health status, or religious beliefs. We do not sell your personal data.

• Contract: to operate your account, show jobs, accept applications, and deliver the service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interest: to maintain platform security, prevent fraud, and improve the product.
• Consent: for the newsletter and any marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation: to respond to lawful requests and retain records where required.

We share the minimum data necessary with:

• Recruiters — only when you apply for their job: your name, email, resume, and cover note.
• Email provider (Resend) — to deliver transactional and newsletter emails.
• Hosting & database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) — to store account, profile, and application data.

We never sell or rent your data to third parties for marketing.

• Account & profile: until you delete your account or request erasure.
• Applications & resumes: kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
• Logs: rolling 30–90 days for security and abuse prevention.

Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate data (you can edit your profile at any time in your dashboard).
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time.
• Complain to a supervisory authority (e.g. the UK ICO).

We use only the cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie preferences. We do not load any analytics or advertising cookies until you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner. You can reject non-essential cookies and still use the full site.

Passwords are hashed. Resumes are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. All traffic uses HTTPS. Database access is governed by row-level security policies so users can only read their own data and recruiters can only see applications to their own jobs.

Our infrastructure providers may process data outside your country of residence (e.g. the EU, UK, or US). Where this happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and provider adequacy decisions.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site and, where appropriate, by email.
